同名歌曲Lemon Tree 最早的演唱者是60年代美國最有影響、最出色的民謠三重組合“彼得、保羅和瑪麗”。1962年“彼得、保羅和瑪麗”發(fā)行第一張LP唱片《Peter Paul & Mary》。一開始并沒有引起多少人注意，但后來選了其中一首《Lemon Tree》(檸檬樹)作為單曲出版，結(jié)果獲得成功，LP的銷量也直線上升。他們純凈的歌聲和典雅的和聲，使民謠的魅力為更廣泛的聽眾意識和接受。

“LEMON TREE”的確是一首少有的醒神之作，頗耐玩味。與以前的唱片相同，這張新專輯也充滿了六、七十年代的音樂感覺，暢快，濃郁，真性情的自然流露。 Fool's Garden的音樂取法THE BEATLES、THE ROLLING STONES。合唱、伴唱的運用使其表演色彩濃郁，感染力極強。
Fool's Garden的音樂回應(yīng)了盛行的復(fù)古潮流，也讓人們在潮起潮落中驀然回首這一經(jīng)住了時間考驗的音樂。《Lemon Tree》整首歌給人一種淡淡地歡快，什么都不用想，什么都不想做，只想坐在陽光里有一搭沒一搭地聽這首歌。曲子清新歡快，如果你有什么煩惱和不快，輕哼一曲《Lemon tree》把煩惱統(tǒng)統(tǒng)丟開去!
其實初聽Lemon Tree，還未聽完，僅僅只是前面幾句，就給人一種淡淡的憂傷，無助的失落，淺淺的惆悵，雖然歌曲中的他的確是在等待女友。但是隨著歌曲旋律緩緩流淌，曲風(fēng)又漸漸轉(zhuǎn)為輕松，明快，似乎之前的一切灰色調(diào)情愫統(tǒng)統(tǒng)都煙消云散了，但這又何其不是樂景襯哀情，他追憶著女孩昨日所描繪的藍天，記憶雖然甜美，但現(xiàn)實卻非如此，面前孤立的檸檬樹啊，酸酸楚楚。
很多時候作者憑借直覺創(chuàng)作的作品甚至連他自己都未意識到的情感，但是這又何礙?藝術(shù)的偉大之處就在于1000個觀眾有1000個感觸，酸甜苦辣，五味陳雜，這也正是生活的意義所在。
